| Psychedelic or trippy art, has been around for countless years in
many forms, but was mainly made popular in the 1960’s. The term trippy or psychedelic coincides with drugs such as LSD and other
psychoactives.
Trippy art goes hand in hand with a lot of (but not limited to) youth culture such as album art, musician posters, concerts, comics, and is also in a lot of political, social, and spiritual beliefs and movements. The most common features of trippy art usually has to do with surrealistic and fantasy oriented imagery, fractal and kaleidoscopic visuals, bright contrasting colors, and very high attention to detail and style. Nowadays, with the help of modern CG technology, psychedelic trippy art can take on an all new form as opposed to back in the 60’s. It is an art form that will never die. |
